Eoin Finn - (Canada)

Presenter Bio:

One of Canada's most popular yoga teachers, Vancouver's Eoin Finn is a Yogi Surfer and Blissologist.    An ocean-workshipper who strongly advocates a belief in yoga and environmentalism, Eoin has been a disciple of Yoga, Eastern and Western philosophy, martial arts and meditation since 1987 and has been teaching Yoga for over a decade to thousands of students.

Fusing his passion for athletics and yoga as an essential cross-training element, Eoin has worked with Olympic athletes in the US and Canada for whom he has created customized, performance enhancing yoga programmes.  Eoin’s teaching offers a heart-opening, invigorating and experiential practice that is grounded with humor, dynamism and a focus on physical and energetic alignment. Yoga, when practiced with this holistic awareness becomes fluid therapy, movement guided by the innate knowledge of our anatomy and evolution.

Eoin leads YES (Yoga, Ecology and Surf) Retreats around the world, sharing his deep respect and love for nature and yoga with his students.  His writings on Yoga and Happiness were recently included in USA Books Today's "Best Selp Help Book of 2008,"  the anthology, Peak Vitality, which also contains insights by Deepak Chopra and Eckhardt Tolle.  Eoin's best-selling power yoga DVDs are sold on amazon.com and lululemon athletica stores around the world.

Eoin is thrilled to be bringing his bliss vibe to Bali and cannot wait to connect with both the waves and the people who celebrate life on this island of the Gods.

Workshop Descriptions:

1.

Super Flow Yoga (for all levels)
Flow is the essence of our being.  It involves being present to every breath that we take and to our collective universal breath.  In alignment-based flow yoga we move in a linear synchronicity, patterning our bodies to the alignment of yoga asanas.  While this moving in a linear fashion is incredible learning and discipline, allowing our bodies to gain connectivity for mind, body and spirit, we tend to focus on this disciplined, serious adult learning of movement, while ignoring our innate developmental movement patterns, the spiraling, circular forms of movement that are essential to our innate selves are also innately attuned to moving from a place of natural intelligence, in a spiraling, ecstatic form of movement that we call “Super flow.”

Drawing inspiration from Yoga, ancient martial arts, dance, surfing, ski and snowboard maneuvers, Super Flow is an ecstatic form of movement. Set to music, it starts off slowly allowing ourselves to feel centered and open in our bodies. Gradually we build up in intensity, spiraling back in touch with the joy of movement.

Superflow is not a replacement of Yoga as we know it, but a powerful complement to the regular yoga practice. Offering a little more exuberance and a little less introverted energy. It complements static movements with rhythmic flow. You will sweat, release and feel the life force pulsing through you.

2.

The Pursuit of Happy Hips™: Theory and Vinyasa practice 2009
The energy of the hip area can be alive and vital, or dull and dormant.  The hips are the connecting point between the upper and lower body.  Furthermore, the hip area is where we experience significant tightness, both from the stresses of our sporting activities as well as from the inactivity of sitting in chairs for more hours in a week than our ancestors could have imagined possible.

Explore pelvic anatomy and the psychology of the hips. Find out what rules we need to follow to help keep the yoga practice safe and beneficial to our physiology, while also learning how many rules actually restrict us.  Then participate in Eoin’s flowing series of poses that will leave you feeling blissful and ecstatic.

Balancing the discipline of a hot and sweaty practice with the chilled West Coast, “play yoga” attitude, this workshop is taught in Eoin’s “All levels, All Good” approach, with modifications for beginners and plenty of juiciness for intermediates and advanced yogis.  We are talking freedom, baby.

3.

Vinyasa Earth Puja
Blissology + Vinyasa Yoga Practice with Eoin Finn Suitable for All Levels of Practitioners: from beginner students to teachers of Yoga.
Yoga is doubtlessly one of the best ways to take care of our body and minds. However, this is just the start.  In this workshop we will learn how the physical yoga asana practice can allow us to experience true interconnectedness, not just with our own minds and bodies, but with the larger circles of connection that we interact with daily in our lives, i.e. our personal relationships, our communities and how we treat all sentient beings i.e. our larger environment.Rediscover ancient yogic teachings and apply new insights to address the needs of our planet in this crucial time.  Join yogi, blissologist and ocean worshipper Eoin Finn in an exciting conversation about how we can make this happen.  We will begin with a Blissology discussion, flow into an invigorating and mindful Vinyasa practice that will allow us to feel as good as we possibly can.  We will end with Eoin's unique earth-body meditation, leaving us with an experience that will inspire us to create change in our practice and in our lives.
